This is the print that graces the cover of the book by David Ossman, The Old Man's Poems, and shows a cat on a railing looking at Mount Baker. The print is from a 4" by 6" linoleum block print is signed and numbered, and printed on 100% cotton rug yarn paper made by the artist. This artwork is matted and ready for an 8 by 10 frame.

This print is one of six illustrations for David Ossman's poetry book, The Old Man's Poems, each printed in an edition of thirty. The title of this print comes directly from a line of one of David Ossman's poems.

About the Paper:

I make paper in my studio that I use in artworks like assemblages and in printmaking, as well as for making poetry broadsides, use as endpapers, and in books as works of art.  The yarn for the paper in these prints came from 100% cotton rug yarn remnants off the looms of a local rug weaving business that I ran through my Hollander beater.* The paper is very strong and picks up the printing ink very nicely. The color of the paper used for this print is a medium-light brown.

*A Hollander beater is a machine for beating and breaking down natural materials especially for papermaking.
